If a failure is detected during normal operation, the machine will stop, the programme sequence
LED where the failure occurred will flash and the speed indicator LED's will illuminate in a
pattern to indicate the fault code.
Fault = 1
Detected Malfunction = Water not entering or not detected
Perform the following = Check tap, cold inlet valve, pressure switch
Fault = 3
Detected Malfunction = Drain failure or not detecting empty drum
Perform the following = Check pressure switch, blocked drain, drain pump
Fault = 5
Detected Malfunction = NTC failure
Perform the following = Check NTC
Fault = 6
Detected Malfunction = Tachometer failure (no motor movement detected)
Perform the following = Check motor
Fault = 7
Detected Malfunction = Circuit board failure (motor triac)
Perform the following = Replace timer
Fault = 9
Detected Malfunction = Drain failure
Perform the following = Check drain pump, pressure switch, blocked drain
Fault = 11
Detected Malfunction = Electronic failure
Perform the following = Replace timer
Fault = 14
Detected Malfunction = Electronic failure
Perform the following = Replace timer
Fault = 16
Detected Malfunction = Control failure
Perform the following = Replace timer
Fault = 18

This is really a useful post for the consumer and also for the people in the service field. As per my experience washing machines are easy to service unlike other home appliances. The issues and the solutions mentioned in the post is really helpful. I have worked in samsung service center and it was good to read.
Washing machine not draining can be due to sensor issue or inner mechanism. It is not a major service issue and can be solved easily. I am a technician and have done a lot of whirlpool washing machine service. Posts such as these help quite a lot for upgrading ourselves.
